The first thing you notice about G/FORE is the color. Not the polite pastels or safe navys that dominate most pro shops — neon pink, electric yellow, ultraviolet. Founded in 2011 by Mossimo Giannulli, G/FORE set out to do something that seemed almost impossible: make golf cool. A decade-plus later, with a cult following that includes PGA Tour pros and streetwear enthusiasts alike, the brand has done exactly that.
The Disruptive Luxury Philosophy
G/FORE's brand slogan — "Disruptive Luxury" — is not marketing fluff. When Giannulli launched the brand, he started with a single product: a golf glove. But not the standard white leather glove every golfer has owned since 1972. His came in 13 colors, made from Cabretta leather, with a fit so precise it felt custom. The golf world — accustomed to beige and predictable — took notice.
That glove-first philosophy remains the brand's DNA. G/FORE approaches every product — polos, pullovers, golf shoes, joggers — with the same attention to material, color, and attitude. Italian-milled fabrics, four-way stretch, moisture-wicking treatments, and UV protection are standard across the line, not premium upcharges. The result is clothing that performs at a Tour level while looking like it belongs at a gallery opening in Los Angeles.
What We Love
- Bold, original design language: Circle G logo, skull motifs, and fearless color palettes that make you stand out on the first tee
- Premium materials: Cabretta leather gloves, Italian technical fabrics, four-way stretch knits — this is luxury-grade construction throughout
- Performance built-in: Moisture-wicking, anti-odor, SPF 50+ UV protection, and cooling tech are standard features, not add-ons
- Genuine crossover appeal: Polos and joggers that look just as at home at a weekend brunch as they do on the back nine
- Tour-proven credibility: Worn by PGA Tour players and backed by Peter Millar's global supply chain since the 2018 acquisition
Things to Consider
- Premium pricing: Polos start around $110, shoes $200+ — this is luxury-tier golf wear, not budget-friendly
- Bold aesthetic may not suit conservative clubs: If your club mandates "traditional" attire, G/FORE's neon moments could raise eyebrows
- Sizing runs athletic/slim: Those between sizes or preferring a relaxed fit should size up, especially in polos and mid-layers
- Limited retail presence outside Asia/US: While expanding globally, try-on opportunities remain limited in many markets
Our Editors' Experience
"The Tech Jersey Polo arrived in packaging that felt more luxury fashion than golf brand. The fabric has a cool-to-the-touch quality that feels incredible on warm days."
The attention to detail is immediate — contrast collar tipping, silicone Circle G logo, laser-cut ventilation. It fits slim through the chest and shoulders with enough stretch for a full swing without pulling. After 5 rounds, no fading, no collar curl, no performance degradation.
"The Gallivanter golf shoe is the most comfortable spikeless shoe I've worn — and I've tested over 40 models."
Full-grain waterproof leather, washable design, massaging footbed, and a cleat system that grips through wet grass. The real win: they don't look like golf shoes, which means you wear them from the parking lot straight into the 19th hole without a second thought.
"Three months of weekly rounds and the Quarter-Zip Pullover still looks box-fresh. The color hasn't faded and the shape hasn't bagged."
G/FORE's mid-layers are the sleeper hit of the lineup. Italian warp-knit fabric, ribbed cuffs that hold their elasticity, and a weight that works for everything from cool mornings to air-conditioned clubhouse dinners. The value proposition — high upfront cost, but replaces 2–3 cheaper alternatives — checks out over a full season.

Brand History & Ownership
G/FORE was founded in 2011 in Los Angeles by Mossimo Giannulli, the entrepreneur behind the eponymous Mossimo clothing brand that became a Target staple in the 2000s. Giannulli identified a gap in the golf market — premium performance was everywhere, but premium style was almost non-existent — and launched with a line of brightly colored Cabretta leather gloves that quickly became must-have accessories among golf's fashion-forward set.
The brand's trajectory accelerated in 2018 when Peter Millar — itself a premium golf and lifestyle brand — acquired G/FORE. The acquisition brought supply-chain muscle and retail distribution without diluting G/FORE's creative identity. In 2025, the brand appointed Suzy Biszantz as CEO to lead international expansion, with a particular focus on the Asian market. Under Kolon FnC's distribution in Korea, G/FORE has become the #1 golf wear brand by sales in Korean department stores — a remarkable achievement for a Western golf brand in an intensely competitive market.
